Dear all, please find hereafter some reminder of this nice event.

Basic idea was to visit the Porsche  assembly plant in Leipzig, in Germany.

Early comers could spend time in this nice historical town, hopefully not totally destroyed during las war but with many nice buildings refurbished,  like the train station (biggest hall of Germany), and some nice antiques…

I will let you choose which ones:

The Porsche plant visit was very interesting, they do have a process to welcome visitors with a specific hall !

I checked on the Porsche site in France there is an option billed 1500€ to go to Leipzig to get your Macan.

Porsche is assembling 600 cars a day in 3 shifts, Macan and Panamera and some Bentley. For sure no photo from inside.

They do check every car in a specific track adapted to SUVsPlant is modern and tidy, and the inside of the cars is really dense and complex.

Interesting, the Panamera full body is in Aluminium.

After the visit, like in Disney, you finish by the Porsche Shop where you can buy everything, from knives to towels, watches etc…

You can see that our 14 team memebers, including 5 frenchies, were delighted to see all models…

In the evening, our german colleagues did book a nice diner in a local cellar, and I will not comment any further on what happened. But the local beer was excellent

The second day morning, we could visit the 2 facilities of Faurecia in this area

  1. FCM who is doing the final assembly and weding of the cold end line for Porsche, but without any Faurecia components.

  2. SAS who is installing a brand new plant to deliver the cockpit of the next generation of Porsche Macan, fully electric one. SOP 2023

    1. Impressive to see a cross car beam in machined magnesium !

    2. The body of the car will be measured at the body shop of Porsche, data sent to SAS who will adjust the support of the Very big and large LCD screen to secure gap and flush…

Thank you for the very well organized visits, in the pure spirit of For’ever, fun and interesting automotive topics.

Enjoy nice summer vacations

Cordialement, le secrétaire de Faur’ever
