Dear all,
For those who could not attend this nice european event, I cannot share a bier or a dinner backwards but just food for thought !
You will find enclosed
a presentation from FCM , their actual business and the developments for Hydrogen.
Some reminder pictures showing that For’ever is also fun, we had an excellent dinner at Montbeliard downtown, and the Automobile Museum in Mulhouse is still marvelous
Press kit Allenjoie grand opening (in French)
Some key point I recorded to share with you
Bavans
Combustion engine is really dead. FCM confirmed that there is no more development, or so little, no innovation either in China/ Europe or America. Our customers are just doing copy and paste, adaptation for their last engines.
The explosion engine using hydrogen or synthetic green fuel has very little future for cars, too expensive and more a counterattack from german car makers to EU.
For trucks , it is still open, because full battery truck for long range does not make sense, and adaptation of a traditional engine to use hydrogen is not so complex.
Bavans R&D center is having a tough challenge to transform 650 skilled engineers into something else.
Hopefully Hydrogen is taking over, currently 200 people there, but 20% are outsider because specific skills are required such as safety requirement
Hydrogen tanks developed look simple design , a tube , a valve but the constraints are enormous because of the 750 bars operating pressure.
The reservoir is made from a plastic body molded , injected but could be blow moulded, covered by a very thick carbon fibers armour impregnated then cooked
Investments in test center and pilot plant are huge

Allenjoie
Brand new plant close to Etupes, made to close old Beaulieu historical factory and to transition to hydrogen
See link to grand opening from 2 days ago and the press kit
There is another brand new plant from seating
Very low production yet, activity is still driven by exhaust pipes but old dirty machines in lBeaulieu look brand new now!
The factory os state of the art for environment, even toilet flow comes from rain… and they use whatever calorie to prevent the use of heating

Cordialement, le secrétaire de For’ever
